Artificial Intelligence-Driven Analytics for Cybersecurity Strategy Development

The use of AI and data analytics for technical cybersecurity support is common and well documented. But the use of AI in support of cybersecurity strategy development has largely been ignored. Information security strategy remains is still much more art than science, with general best practices and expert advice both widely available and frequently contradictory. Why do we base our cybersecurity strategy decisions on general ideas instead of on data? This presentation offers novel approaches for applying AI within a very-large-scale data mining environment that leverages historical data on cybersecurity outcomes to create industry and company-specific cybersecurity strategy decision guidance.

After completing this session, the participant will be able to:
  • Describe novel concepts for the application of AI-driven analytics in support of cybersecurity strategy development.

  • Articulate the use of poly-intelligence frameworks supported by AI to derive actionable insights from very-large-scale datasets.

  • Describe the current gap in the usage of AI and data analytics beyond tactical/technical cybersecurity operations support.

  • Articulate barriers to advancements in data-driven cybersecurity strategy development, including barriers to poly-intelligent data analyses.

The event is finished.
